Opened the L. parahybana eggsack tonight!!!!!

Anastasia and I opened the L. parahybana eggsack that we bred here a few months back. The sack is in it's 1st instar right now. They are active and walking around. The female did not want to let it go without a fight. She dragged and tugged on the sack for a bit. We finally got it from her.

I have absolutley no idea on count yet. I am waiting till they get to 2nd instar which should be in a few weeks. I seperated them into 2 deli cups to give them some space.

I am going to guess between 1800-2100. There are a ton in there that is for sure!

Wow thats amazing, looks like mom was pretty attached {D . Ive heard that the sacks from these put out a lot of young, but i didnt realize quite to that extent, that is a LOT of work seperating all those into vials! Good luck and thanks for posting :)

ah ah, poor mom, after we took away her sac
she grab on to a round clump of peat and been holding for couple hrs
Oh Man, I really felt for her, Aweeee :eek:
she is a such a good mommy
any way she is eating like a champ now
all u can eat buffet :D

wow

i am currently waiting on a sac from an 11 year old female that is huge(9.5"+)if you got that many,i could only imagine what she could have,great pics and congrats
