Opened the incubator this morning to find...

two little eyes staring back at me. Kind of neat actually. This is my first successful breeding attempt.

Okeetee corn. Hopefully the other 5 will be popping out soon. :clap:

You have a total of 6 eggs? Was it a young pair (young female) you mated?

Yes they were both young but I had a total of 10 eggs. Four of them were duds.

Is this the first time she's layed fertile eggs? Maybe another batch is comming in 6-8 weeks. If you want more eggs you should try and feed her well (well, but not too much ) so that the next batch comes out fertile too. Actually it feels like rather late in the year for another batch to come, but I wouldn't know...

Yes, this is her very first. It is probably a little late for another clutch but we will see. I have been feeding her well to bulk her back up because she seemed so skinny after laying.

Here is a picture of the first one out of the egg. Another has since pipped but we are still waiting on him.

I call him Titan because of the little "T" shaped shield of grey on his head.

Well, will you look at that! What a little beauty. The head markings are actually very similar to the ones on my babies, but then I havn't seen sooo overwhelmingly many corn babies so maybe their all the same. In general they basically have the same markings and colour (did you sneak in here one evening perhaps? )
