Among motile animals bilateral symmetry is the most common type of symmetry. In mollusks, some gastropods have an internal asymmetry, a lost lung, to prevent fouling from their u-shaped digestive system. Some snakes have one lung, an adaptation to an elongated body plan. Some birds have one ovary, an adaptation for light weight for flight.
It has now been discovered that some beetle genera have one testis. Since 20% of all animal life on the planet is from the Order Coleoptera (beetles), is having two nuts overrated?
Find out (not sure how long this link will stay viable, so get it while they're hot:
Uni-beetles
