Ok, we finally got the moist retreat for our leopard geckos, a sandwich container filled with spanish moss. Spanish moss wont harm the geckos right? And is spanish moss good enough to use for there moist retreat? Also, I have the container filled with moss almost directly under the heating light(one of those exo-terra red infared lights) is that going to burn the container or make it catch fire? Should I even have the moist retreat under the light? Or should I move it to the cooler end of the tank?

Spanish moss is fine, just don't forget to moisten it periodically and you might want to change it for fresh spanish moss a couple of times a year..

I have mine midway in the tank, on the edge of the hot zone. Keeping directly under the light would make it too hot in there and dry it out really fast.

Thanks, and I forgot to ask if you put the infrared heat/light lamp in the centre of the cage or on one side of the cage.

I put it on one side, to get the heat gradient.
