I caught a rather large (3-3.5") Heteropoda venatoria today at work that seemed a bit malnourished so I decided to fatten it up a bit before releasing it. I brought her home in a deli cup and prepared a rubbermade container complete with a hide and a large water dish. I popped the lid and had just begun to tilt the container when she made a wild dash and disappeared (these buggers are extremely fast).
Oh well, I'm sure she will be fine with the escapee crickets and odd palmetto bug.
