my guess would be family Miridae? though i cant be certain because its only a nymph at the moment any chance you can get a picture of the underside and maybe a macro of the head?
unfortunately, I was only in Cozumel for a few hours. Im now back in California.

I have emaile a copy of the image, along with what description I could give to Perdue Univ. entymology dpt. to see if I can elicit a responce from them..
it is a cool bug nonetheless and you hit the nail on the head with the True Bug description well definitely keep me posted on what they say i want to see how close i was lol
