Ok so this may sound a bit silly, maybe I’m being over”protective” but could I feed my T this roach.

His wings are beat up and his abdomen is falling apart, should I worry about anything or am I overthinking this?

Questions:
  1. Is the roach wild caught?
  2. If yes, then do not
  3. If no, is there any other ones to feed?

I personally wouldn’t if his abdomen has issues. A messed up wing, can happen in a molt, but more than that, I’d be concerned something was wrong with it. I have 3 adult female crickets as pets now because both their wings are very messed up. Just not worth the risk to me. Feeders are cheap and a T waiting another day or two to eat is never a problem.

That was my consensus, but I wanted other people’s opinions before doing anything.

Next time, if you can afford to, purchase roaches from reputable breeders that can certify what you are buying. Will bring a peace of mind.

some hybrids can look different. But unhealthy looking is something else. I dont feed my weak death walk crickets.

Im utterly shocked at the previous posts....old male roaches get like this, its normal and there is NO good reson to worry about feeding the roach.....whenever i find an old beat up male roach, i always feed it quickly so it doesnt die and go to waste....lots of over-thinking going on in this thread IMO.

Edit For the record I would had fed it off, abdomens not falling apart .
It doesn’t really appear in the images but I believe it’s impacted.

I guess that’s the question then, can I feed her impacted roaches?
