Thanx, they seem to be just fine, just not as developed as i anticipated. I had them on 22C for the hole period. So this must be the reason, lower temps. They live up very high in nature and they live pretty cool. Some periods of the year there is only ariund 15C where they live and they live up between 1000m to 2000m above ground, so it is not that warm there. That is also a thing i did when breeding these highlands, i lowered temperature for 10 weeks to see if they finnally would give me a sac...it helped;-)

That's pretty cool! When do you think you will have "eggs with legs" on your hands?

it kind of surprised me that they were not already eggs with legs;-) I took them at day 32, but live pretty low in temps, so they are not as developed as other pokies eggs. But they are close, within a week i am sure.

Good luck with them, I'd be happy to hear of updates on them from here out regardless of what morph/color/high/lowland mix it may be. Was there only 30 eggs in the sac or was that what you kept after you dumped them out separating the bad eggs? 32 days does seem like a long time for any Poecilotheria eggs to not grow some legs yet.

Later, Tom

It is because of the low temperature they grow slow, but there was maybe 32 eggs in the sac, think i destroyed 2. The mother is not fully groen yet, only 2 years old. A big female subfusca gives normally between 30 to 60 eggs.

I will update how they develop, i have many females who in the next monts should give some offspring.2 haplopelma longipes, 6 p metallica, 3 p miranda, 2 p rufilata and 2 p tigrinawesseli. only the last 2 i have not succeeded with yet.

I'd suggest your temperature is just a little higher than in their natural habitat. 21c/72F is the max temp Jan-April with a drop to 15c/59F Sept-Dec. Naturally development will be slower at these temps and I find these develop slower in growth than those known as Lowland. The rainfall is very high, upto 1900mm during the South-West Monsoon (June-October). Of course I doubt that small increase will have any impact but its worth noting that in some areas they actually experience snow!

Good luck with your sac.

I actualy was a little higher in temperatur than in their natural habitat. But i do think that to get offspring from them it requires a period of low temps. I did not succeed without it the last 3 times.
