in my opinion, I doubt it, most likely a trait carried on that if it kills the t, no offspring, some sort of survival instict of some sort.

I went to e-spiderworld.com a while ago, and John Hoke said the male turned on the female. He said it was rare, and I think it was Pamphobeteus ssp.

I seem to remember Mike "troll" Dame reporting such an incident years ago. It was one of the large rainforest species--T. blondi or apophysis, I think.

I'm going to take some pics this time, but this one male G.rosea i'm breeding around right now is VERY VERY wicked...

he's already killed 1 female before mating, and i'm not too sure if he'd hang around aftewards to try it again...

I just wasn't quick enough to get into the cage before he snagged her.

I'm not too sure about after mating though. I think, generally speaking, male Ts will be beating a hasty retreat ;)

Just thinking about the question, I wouldn't think that would happen. But to lose a breeding female would suck. You sometimes expect the male to get it, but not the female.
