Hello ,

I want to talk about some very serious beetles that i'am trying to bred, Ochyropus gigas. It's a carabidae from the genus Ochyropus.
The size is from 50 mm to 80 mm imago. Never see a larva yet.
This species maybe have the strongest mandibules of all insects even more than manticora.
It can hunt golitahus species larva and fresh adults .
I would like to send some overseas but they destroy every plastic box that i use. Anyone that have good advice? Maybe metal box?
Best regards

Hako

That's one cool beetle! it looks just like a gigantic Scarites

Putting them in glass jars would probably work.

What grotesque looking mandibles! Impressive, it would be quite sight to see them take down a goliathus

Wow... I wish these were in culture in the US... 😍 You'll definitely need very thick plastic, the thing is, I'm sure how they're chewing out is by grabbing onto whatever holes you're poking into the plastic for ventilation, and making those holes big enough to escape... So you could try only making very tiny holes, and just more of them, like with a pin or needle.

Or you could use tin metal containers, like what people used to sell mints and stuff in... Glass would be quite heavy probably, and make shipping more expensive.
