hey guys whats up i just have a quick question. so my obt was refusing her food and now she made dirt/web curtains all around her hide as if she enclosed herself in with no light getting in or anything. signs of a molt, no? well my question is how will i know when she is done molting? will she come out and display as if shes searching for food? and if she does do that i should wait a week to make sure shes all hardened up right? thanks!

It sounds like your T may very well be in premolt. Yes, a week is a good 'rule of thumb' to wait until you feed again.:)

She will come out when she is ready. i haven't seen our P. murinus in over a month and it wouldn't surprise me that i didn't for another one. As unhelpful as it sounds, you will know she's done when she shows you.

A good rule of thumb for spiderlings is to wait a week. However, if it is an adult, i would wait at least 2 weeks personally.

My honest opinion on length of time to wait to feed after a molt though, is to watch your T and they will show you they are ready. Look for it to come out and be in hunting pose.:D

The same thing happened to my OBT a few days ago.

I haven't seen him yet but there is an opening at the top of his 'cave' now, so I'm guessing he has came out at some point.
I'm gonna stick a cricket in there in a few more nights.

Everyone I have talked to has said that it will be anywhere from a couple days to a few months before you see your OBT back out.
I guess just be patient, that's really all you can do.
