Compared to my Damon medius, I find my Phrynus whitei’s to be way more active, interested in hunting and fine with being on display.
My first two P. whitei’s has so much personality that now I have five lol. They’ll hunt and eat out in the open, take food from the tongs and they’re very rarely sedentary. I found putting them in much larger enclosures encourages their eagerness to explore as well.
Not much of a question haha just wanted to see what other people’s experiences with them have been! I was under the impression that they’re quite elusive. My Damon moves only when it’s pitch black and has always been very private.

I have no phrynus (yet..) but I do have a Damon Medius. She is always out at night (if the lights are on she will not come out), and usually sits in one spot but explores all over the place when hungry, moving very slowly, but no way in hell would I be able to tong feed her. She has telekinetic powers.

Honestly, not a huge fan of Medius as a species. More difficult to take care of, sedentary & jumpy. Awesome animal regardless, but Whitei is definitely a fav favorite

Yes! My Damon is the exact same way. She’s beautiful and will come out in the dark but I NEVER see her otherwise 😂 pretty sure mine would choose starving to death over tong feeding.

I definitely love my Medius, but you’re correct in your statement haha. She was my first and then I got addicted to the whitei’s they’re such characters! Do you have other favourite species? I’m always looking to expand

Oh yes! I had a Medius until last month, he was excellent! And suuuuuch an impressive animal. Just so skittish, and I hear that it's a species thing haha.

My first ambly was a Honduran P. Whitei and he has such an awesome temperament. Definitely my fave! I'm hoping to grab some Diadema in the new year 🙂 I've kept Euphrynichus Bacilifer before as well which I really enjoyed! They're super unique

I just got a P. whitei today, and he's already charmed me. He's my first amblypigid so I wasn't sure what to expect, but even with the lights on in the room he's out and about! I was expecting him to be pretty shy. From what I've been able to tell from folks on other sites, they seem to be a really active and engaging species with a great temperament.
