You people are so depressing! I just revert to George Carlin's spiel. Save the whales! Save the snails. Protect the planet! BULL****!! The planet is doing just fine. The earth, minus all it's living things will keep right on spinning quite happily. It's people that are going away. Maybe the earth wanted plastic. Our job is done now. We can be fazed out.
Honestly. it's ludicrous to think that humans are immune to environmental destruction. Sure it will take a little longer to get rid of us, but on the planetary timescale it's just a very brief moment. Will things get turned around? Sure! When $$$ is no longer worshiped above all else. Don't hold your breath. Until you have to as you dash from your artificial environment home to your artificial environment car.
