Problem Not receiving emails for conversation replies

I'm not consistently receiving an email each time I receive a response in a conversation. Initially, I thought it was my preferences, since I had turned off a number of alerts/emails. I reactivated all of my alerts/emails and then received an email for a conversation response. Then I received two responses with no emails. Then an email for another response. Then one more response with no email.

Is there a certain quality applied to some conversation responses that impacts when emails are sent? Is this just a glitch?

My guess is glitch. I am still getting notifications every time someone posts in Avic gallery. I posted 1 lousy pic in avic gallery and now I know anytime anyone else does. And yes... I turned off ALL gallery notifications. I am satisfied to blame XenForo™ not Ab. lol

Thank you - I believe you've helped me confirm it's a glitch, as I also didn't receive an email for your response to this thread, in spite of watching this thread and having all of my alert and email preferences activated. Oh well, I'm a patient guy, I'm sure it will get sorted out eventually - especially once the AB AI truly becomes self aware. Let's just hope it doesn't also develop feelings and start to throw temper tantrums!

I haven't quite figured it out either, I noticed I'm getting some emails for some threads and PM's but not others. I thought it was just my settings, but it seems to be random.

Hmm, Philth's response was worthy of an email, but not Ellenantula's. Wonder if there's a pattern to it or if they've just put spiders in charge of the mailroom.

The way the emails work, you will only receive 1 email per visit to the thread / conversation.

For example:

• someone replies to a conversation / thread you're watching - you receive an email.
• multiple people respond to that conversation / thread you're watching after that initial response that you receive the email for - you won't receive an email.
• if you visit the conversation / thread you're watching after receiving the email - you'll receive another email when the next person responds.
• if you visit every time before another person posts, you'll receive an email for every post

At least that's how it's supposed to work. Hope that makes sense.

In regards to notifications:

First, for things going forward you'll have to go to your "Preferences" and uncheck the items that you don't want to automatically be "watched" in the red box:



Second, for things you're already watching, you'll have to go to your "Watched Content". There are 3 different kinds of watched content:

• Watched Media
• Watched Albums
• Watched Categories

(I don't have any watched anything, so this screenshot will be kind of empty). Select the things you want to "unwatch" and then select the choice you want from the drop down menu and click "go"(you'll have to do this for each of the above):



Don't select anything that you want to keep watching. The main thing you'll probably want to "unwatch" is the "categories"

I'm not sure what the difference is between these two, but I haven't received any email notifications for this thread yet today. I've visited multiple times, and only know the thread was updated because I got the alert when I signed on to the site.

I don't believe it's working the way you described. Almost every time I've been on there's only been one new reply, but I've only received emails for about 50%. Responses definitely have arrived after I've visited my thread or convo and emails have not been sent. I didn't receive any email for the two responses between you and Philth, and I'd visited the thread a few times after my last post.

My conversations have definitely been one response at a time without consistent emails. It hasn't been a matter of just receiving one email for multiple responses.

I'm generally visiting multiple times between posts, discovering one new post at a time, but only getting emails for half the responses.

I just got my first email notification for this thread, while I was logged into AB viewing other threads.
