My brother went to the LPS (Magic Isle in Centereach)for supplies and found a pleasant suprise! A T in an unmarked tank. When he asked the manager about it, he was told it came in as a G. Rosea, but was obviously not one. The manager told him he didn't know what it was, but would sell it to him for the same price as a rosea ($20)!

Here is a picture of it:

That's right!!!!

A 4" regalis for $20!!!!

It doesn't get much better then that....lucky guy!!!

Oh dear god. Imagine some poor, unsuspecting (and unknowing) customer coming in to buy their first pet tarantula.....

.....and I'm sure you all know where this is going.

GREAT DEAL for you though!!!

MUAHAHAHA! I love those "you obviously don't know what you have right there" moments.

It's a good think your brother was able to hold his tongue long enough to hear the price of this guy's "G. Rosea"

Luck o' the Irish indeed-must have something to do with St. Paddy's Day comin' up!

I bought a four-inch female Grammostola sp. "formosa" for $20.00, a four-inch female Chromatopelma cyanopubescens for $35.00, and a mature female Brachypelma auratum for $35.00, also. There are some deals out there; it's just a matter of timing to get them.

ROFL {D

I read the story first and then looked at the picture (and text under it) and just about died laughing there - that is one very unique looking Rosie!!!!! LOL

Good that someone who understands what it is got it vs some unknowing new owner looking for a nice safe rosie as a first T.

Thats one of the funnier LPS IDing stories I've heard. Great find!!!

Aww man! I used to live right by there and they never had anything fun when I was there (well except the bettas, they actually have some awesome bettas).
