We just got our red knee sling a week ago and it is not eating. We put an ornament in the enclosure and the sling crawled inside of it so we cannot really see it. It's still alive because each time we check the ornament, it is in a different location. We are trying to keep a consistent temp of 75 F. and we mist it every day. The sling is about 3/4 inch long. When we try to feed it, it ignores crickets and mealworms.

Please provide a picture of the sling. Odds are it is either not yet settled in, not hungry or both.
Also, please don't mist it daily. Great way to make stuffy conditions which could lead to death. Just let the substrate dry out a bit if it's currently wet and keep a side of the enclosure damp. Not wet.

That’s normal. A Brachypelma Harmorii or Smithi can go for long periods without eating.

A tip. Use latin names, english names can be a mess and make it easy to confuse between different tarantulas.

Read these, a lot of good info here for new keepers:

Stop daily misting it, it’s not a plant
They don’t all eat immediately- patience

It can be normal for tarantulas to go for weeks or even months without eating. It may need some time to settle in, it may not be hungry, or it might be in premolt. Just keep offering it prey every so often and eventually it'll probably eat.

My tarantulas eat every one to two months, you would be surprised with how long they can go

quit misting just keep a water bottle cap filled with water leave a meal worm(with head cut off) in its cage over night and remove the next morning. that kills your stress of it eating or not since the food is there if it wants to eat.
