Hi, I was wondering if it was normal for iguanas to be fine and nice inside, but the second they go outside they turn evil and attack everything? any info will help.
The sun outside makes them active, and perhaps combined with new surroundings got nervous. If you do it often he should calm down and not be nervous after a while, iguanas love to bathe in the sun so it;s something he should enjoy.
well we have pretty much a giant wall of glass in our living room that he always basks next to so it's not like he doesn't know what it looks like, or he hasn't basked in the Sun at. and up until he reached about 2½ feet he was fine outside.
Male igs can get pretty temperamental once they reach maturity, don't they? If he sees inside the house as "home", I wouldn't imagine it's territorial in nature...
Do you think maybe he can smell a cat or some other predator?
well, a long time ago we left him outside in our tree with a leash and harness on , and when we came outside again he was out of the tree, and it was so tight on him we just had to cut it off. and wasn't for a few years after that, that we reintroduced him to a harness, and the outdoors. and I think part of his meanness is towards the harness. would any of this be the cause?
I left it in his cage for a week, than had him wear it for about a week, and y after about a month of him seeing and feeling I took him outside, but he wasn't a fan. and it wasn't like we just left him there, we were outside doing yard work, and the next thing we know he was hanging there.
