Normal behavior for a Hissing Cockroach?

Hello!

I am new to the world of insects, and I just today bought a hissing cockroach to start getting into it. However, I've noticed that he seems to be very lethargic, even considering their somewhat slothful nature. Whether within his enclosure or being handled, he just lies down in the corner and stays still, and is fairly hard to coax to motion again. I feel bad that I may be disturbing his peaceful sleep considering him being nocturnal, but it keeps seeming like he's dead or something, and they always look more active in footage I see of them even during the day. I'm very likely just overly paranoid, but is there a way to know if this is normal? I worry maybe he's too cold or dry. Climate in Oregon right now isn't particularly cold, but it's definitely closer to that than warm much of the time. Hasn't touched his water or little apple slice yet, either.

Very grainy pic of where he's been hanging out for a while now. I'm normally keeping him in a dark area until I can get a small tube sort of structure in there.

Thank you in advance haha

how long have you had it and what is the temperature in its enclosure

also it really needs some places to hide. it's probably stressed as hell out in the open like that.

It's been about a day and a half now. I'm not sure the exact temperature, but I've been keeping him in a room that I know for sure is no less than 55 degrees. I was up late last night and saw that he suddenly became very active at around 10pm, roaming the enclosure and nibbling the apple at one point, which is promising. I've since made him a small tube until I can get something more official, and he seems happy for it, and has been chilling in there most of today.

55F? holy shit that's chilly. I'm not surprised it's sluggish.
