I've had my Emperor Scorpion for about... 3 years now? Yeah, that sounds right.
His name is Damon Baird [from Gears of War] and has the temperament to match the character. Hissy but harmless.
Here's a picture of him, when I first got him.
"Touch me and I'll take your finger off D<"
I was cleaning out his cage today and I stumbled upon your care sheet and I like the design for the cage very much! I do not have gravel right now though, so I'm getting some in the morning.
Will aquarium gravel be fine to use?
Since I've had him, he has shed once. I had absolutely NO idea that they shed and it scared the crud out of me when he was getting fat, I thought I was overfeeding him. But then he shed, and now I have the shed in a glass case because it was just too cool.
I've been wondering lately, how would I go about handling him exactly? xD;
I'm honestly a little scared when he moves fast, but I absolutely love to watch him feed and crawl around. I like to let him out when my floor is clean and I can keep an eye on him. He's not exactly aggressive, I'm just worried about him stinging me.
I've been thinking about getting a female for him. Probably a stupid question, but could I keep them in the same enclosure, or would the female kill and eat him? I'm fine with having two enclosures if that is the case :3
Thank you for reading <3
Some of the scorpions I've seen on these boards just scare me, mostly the deathstalker, because it's crazy deadly o-o The others I can handle looking at xD
