Newts anyone

Just thought I'd post a few photos of one species I keep.

Southern crested newt(Triturus karelinii)

Currently keeping 6. Will need to part with some of them soon to slim the group. Since a few on here keeps frogs maybe someone is into these also.

I used to keep a pair of newts ages ago. Last month in SW VA I found a newt in the forest. It was somewhat similar in appearance to the one you have pictured, but a different species. Dark brown on top, mottled orange underneath.

I have seen yellow newts with orange spots locally (central NC) in one pond.

Your newts sound like Eastern newts(N. viridescens). Cute little goobers for sure(but I'm already keeping Cynops orientalis)...but of course smaller, and don't develop any kind of breeding colors.
