picked up this guy from a friend recently.
his name is jack sparrow.{D
ive got a few questions though...
would i need to always provide the humid hide?
my friend didnt even use one and he had no problems shedding,i believe its because the humidity in singapore is very high.
should i have one in there just for precautions?if i do,it seems like theres very little roaming space.
and for supplements, once every other feeding is enough?
hes about 6 inches without the tail.

So cute!

If you don't want to keep a humid hide in there you should be fine just putting one in when he looks about ready to shed. Usually for at least a day before you'll be able to see that he's lighter and getting ready for one. Just put the hide in then and take it back out when he's all done. :)

Or you can probably get away without one, but make sure to check his toes after each shed and get off any skin that may be stuck on the ends. If it's left there your little guy will end up losing the tips of his toes.

Enjoy! They're great little geckos.

thats what i read,thank you.
i think i'll provide a humid hide,i'll just make several levels in the cage for him to roam around more.

another question,
is it okay to use HUMAN calcium pills and supplements for leopard geckos?
some websites say its okay to use human supplements for reptiles, while others say dont.
reptile supplements are really expensive, especially for a student.
but if theres harm using human supplements,i will use reptile supplements.
obviously the supplements would be crushed into powder before use.

wow thats a smiley one!! nice pick up.

i wouldn't use human calcium for leos. while the reptile calicum is expensive, you aren't going to be buying it very often with only one animal.

i don't off hand. the thing about using stuff not for reptiles is the other stuff in the pills. the other additives could have nasty effects on the animals.
