I was walking in a wooded area near my house in search of snakes and widows. I had all of my gear with me, tripod, camera, bag, vials, snake hook, tongs, water, etc. I was just about to lift up and old tire when I saw this little fawn just laying there. I thought it was dead untill it started moving its nose and mouth! I was in so much shock that I just looked at it for a minute. I set the tripod up and got some pictures and a video.
I didnt want to bother him but I figured since I was already just feet from him, this was a photo opprotunity (butchered that spelling) of a lifetime.
The little baby just layed there. After I was done, he stood up and staggered off. The mother was nowhere in sight.
Why did she leave him? Maybe I scared her when I walked into the woods? Will he be ok wandering off all by himself?
