Hello all, I'm new to the spider care world as my kids have caught a nice size jumping spider (a "daring" I beleive). Anyone else have one of these common spiders as a pet? I have a few questions for you guys too. How often do I feed it (wouldn't it depend on the size of the food?), and whats the best way to provide water? I don't like the idea of keeping a wet sponge in there, and I put water in daily on the leaves so that it forms drops for the spider. I'll try to get some pics as soon as my pet cooperates.

We kept several jumpers for awhile. Ours were kept in a 4x4x5" Michael's display cube with some drilled holes. Eco-earth on the bottom and a piece of plastic plant. We would spritz with water a couple times a week, I don't recall seeing them drink.

For food, we would toss in a small cricket every other day. They are fun to watch stalk the cricket.

These guys will usually web up a little spot in the corner, but spend a lot of time moving around. They move herky-jerky, which is kind of funny.

If it makes a really thick web and disappears inside for a week or so, this is premolt. Ours all molted once in our care.
