Congrats! Tokays are cool. Haven't had one in years but not hard to take of. Just don't worry about the barking at night, it's normal.

Tokays are just plain gorgeous and so is yours...CONGRATS!
I have a huge male tokay. It is powder blue with dark red spots. Tokays change colors from light to dark with mood swings and temp swings. Males are the most colorful and females are the least colorful. Your setup looks great. Just lightly mist the sides of the glass so it can drink. I put a medium size bowl of water in mine and it almost always defecates in the water. Mine goes crazy eating dusted large crickets. It will even climb inside the dusting cup I use to get at the crickets. I also tong feed feed mine thawed pinky mice. Loves the heck out of them. I only give it one a week. Keep it warm with a slight temp drop at night along with a photo period. Yes mine vocalizes or calls out every night. Again congrats...tokays are one of the most beautiful lizards there are!

Here is a quick video tong feeding him a pinky.

I sexed it, and Dante is a her =( Darn. I was really lookin forward to hearing the barking at night. Maybe I'll get her a date one of these days =) And thanks for all the tips. I have that hood lamp on it, but during the day the thermometer says it's 100 degress and 50% humidity (it goes right back up as soon as i shut off the light for a few mins). Is that good? Should she have that temp gradient, even though she never moves? She usually hangs out at the back of the tank behind that plant. Moves about as much as my B. albopilosum lol went to make sure she was doin okay this morning, and she gave me a neat little nip on the pinky. It's gonna be hard with something so docile-looking to have the personality of a pitbull raised on a diet of concentrated hatred and human flesh, as my bud said =) Gonna be a very entertaining pet, that's for sure =)

I thought it was a female. I would cut back on the wattage used for your basking lamp. IMO...the temp inside is to hot. The temp inside mine is heats up to 84 with a basking temp of 90-92. Doing this your humidity should climb to about 60-70%. Mine hangs out behind its hanging plants to until night time or it sees my cricket dusting cup. Then it comes out to attack...lol!

i have had tokays for a long time your temp is a little high and as stingray said try to get a smaller bulb. and tokays needs high humidity nothing lower than 60% but you can bring up 85% or so without any problems. and believe it or not some tokays will even settle down enough to be messed with females are easier to mess with than males. and if you happen to get bit don't pull your finger out of its mouth you will break the teeth out of its mouth and you will lose a lot of blood and skin. tokays is what got me into reptiles almost 20 years ago.
