TLDR/ here are my questions, more info after that

1) does sudden thick webbing (it’s been about two weeks since we found our spider) indicate molting? I don’t believe it’s an adult but I could be wrong

2) how do I feed the pinhead crickets? I’m so nervous they’ll harm our lil friend! So far we’ve been doing hydei and they have eaten a ton! But I feel like those are getting too small, they’re only about 1/2 to 3/4 of the spider’s body length

3) how long do you all go between feeding? I was doing every other day or until they caught all the flies but they were looking plump so I’ve waited 3 days but was going to feed again tonight

please be gentle I am learning! And that is not their long term enclosure which I explain more below.

So I have what I believe to be a juvenile jumper that is wild caught. In general I don’t prefer to keep wild caught animals of any kind but I had destroyed this poor baby’s home on accident while cleaning and the weather is turning soon so we decided we would at least keep them until spring.

I’ll include some pics in case anyone can help me determine what kind of jumper they are and sex. I looked for an epigyne but didn’t see one, but they’re still quite small. also why I use the singular they, I don’t like “it” bc they feel like my little friend. But I don’t know their sex so I thought they/them nade

I also included a pic of their sudden thick webbing. They had a spot of webbing before but this new thick spot just showed up within the last day. I’m mostly concerned about making sure I don’t disturb them if they’re going to molt.

I am also upgrading their enclosure asap, the one I got from Amazon had Gaps they could’ve gotten out through, but I have one from tarantula cribs arriving in just a few days.

TIA!

1) could be premolt or could just be building a cozy home

2) for jumpers I just chuck the pinhead in and the spider will decide when it wants to pounce it

3) i feed once or twice a week depending on how fat the abdomen is

Also, I collect jumpers out of the yard all the time. No big deal, they're everywhere.

thank you! This is all helpful! I tend to overthink everything so advice from others helps

Also, if you notice the spider is having trouble with prey you can always try pre-killed.

I never thought it was possible as they hunt for their prey.

When I leave for long trips, I leave a small dead cricket in the enclosure and when I get back it's a bolus.

It looks like a bold jumping spider (maybe male?) If your enclosure is small enough you can just drop the cricket and the spider might eat it. I'd recommend putting fruit flies in if you're going on vacation, since they can't hurt the spider and are quite small (also great for juveniles)
