Hello all...again. I have had my Tigrosa Annexa female for about a month now. I noticed tonight, that she has strands of web connecting part of her substrate to the corner where she likes to burrow. It's just long, straight strands. Does this type of web have any significant meaning? This is the first time I've seen her make it. In the pic, I circled the area where the webbing is. I don't know if you can see it without enlarging the pic and, hopefully, the pic is good enough quality to tell. Thanks again.

Umm, it might be too early to tell.
Maybe it's "WIP", Work In Progress....
Time will tell. Be patient.

This is the pic from this morning. It looks like the webbing is connected to a sac, but I didn't see any babies when she was out last night. The webbing continues down to the corner of the enclosure.

You should not ever use wood chips like that with arachnids. They can puncture their soft bodies, and also most woods like that are toxic to them.

Those aren't wood chips. It's a mix between the forest floor substrate and creature soil substrate from Petco. I do my homework before putting things in my spiders' enclosures. ;)

i know the Tigrosa annexa that live around my house are very adaptable and will use burrows made by other bugs. They will hide out in these holes and line them with a little bit of web. The web is used as a way for the spider to feel further out of the burrow for prey. Kind of like a trapdoor spider, but not as complex.

Originally, there were strands of webs along the top, but yesterday they went down the other side. She's hanging out half on top of her burrow tonight. She usually roams the enclosure at night.
