thats a nice set up, are the rocks regular ones you found outside, the reason I ask this is because with fish, its bad too just use any regular rock, and was wondering if the same rule applied to T's

heh... I feel dumb now, but anyhow time for my 2nd question, I thought it was bad to have a lamp above the cage as it'd dry out the tarantula? or is that one of the many tarantula urban legends? or is it just that small of a light that it does no harm? sorry for my ignorance I'm just now starting to learn everything I can about T care in general rather than just how to keep my Rosie healthy and happy (if a T can even be happy.)

Deadirish, not a silly question at all...HEAT lamps are bad for spiders...what I have is just a small low watt bulb..it does not put out very much heat at all...I dont have it on very often either...its just a "display" light...like when people are over and such...as for your rosie..there needs are very basic....dry substrate and a water dish and a hide...thats really all they need...they usually do well with room temps as well...all my spiders are in my basement...and the temps are around 70 to 73 degrees...

Regards, Mike
