Got a spider labeled Orange Usambara Baboon from the pet shop. Shop said he wasn't doing to well and I got him for $10. I think they mean just old age. Fully matured male and hooks are clearly visible. Pics to follow after I rehouse. I would like to confirm it is in fact P. murinus.

So I guess what they meant by wasn't doing so well was the fact it only had 7 legs. I got a 7 legged OBT{D Doesn't bother me though. I have seen T's do fine with only 7 legs. The second pic shows one of the hooks circled in red. Also does anyone elses OBT almost flip right onto its back for a threat pose like mine in the second pic or is mine just being extra aggressive in that pic?? I have already done tank maintenace with him on the loose and he didn't even move. I'm sure that will change when he gets settled in though{D

I've not seen an OBT do the back flip, but I have seen my friend's lividum do one, with her abdomen still in the burrow opening. LOL

No I haven't done any breeding before. I am for sure not ready to get into that yet anyway. (Although I finally have a copy of tarantula keepers guide on the way now which I'm sure briefly touches on that subject:D I can't f@#king wait for this book to here!!!!) I think with this guy I'm just going to keep him to observe my first "aggressive" spider and not even think about breeding. I do howerver have a female and a male rose hair which I am CONSIDERING trying that with one he gets hooks. I would rather have 100 rose hairs that 100 OBT's running around anyway until I learn how to work with the high strung geneses.
