Here she is in all her glory, finally got my hands on a little Pamphobeteus mascara. My partner and I weren't expecting to take in a new T, but she was just too good to pass up especially after not taking in any new Ts after we got my B. Boehmei 2+ years ago. Officially rocking three tarantulas now. She was great during the rehouses we've done with her, enjoying the current temperament and food response she's got. If anyone wants to share Pampho stories feel free, I really love this genus.

I had one get loose before , still weird why my other females died of mystery causes while one is going strong 13 years later . Tons of pictures in my signature of my female pinkbloom.

OOOO lovely pink bloom! It's weird when they just die of random causes, nothing makes you feel worse. Hoping this little one goes strong for as long as possible.

My favorite Pampho of all time is the P mascara. I bought 2 that I raised from slings and now their right around 6" dls. They molt at the same time and i'm always blown away when they emerge. Pure grit and muscle when it comes to T's. I feel like once you get into the birdeater category, good luck getting out of it lol

Pamphos are awesome but I have to say Ornithoctoninae and Poecilotheria could rival them for display T's.
Not in "display", because what I mean in display is seeing them all the time. Ornithoctoninae are fossorial and Poecilotheria like to be in holes of dead trees. I think you are referring to their coloration/patterns/beauty. I'm talking about walking into your spider room and always seeing your tarantula. Pamphos rule when it comes to that! :) Best genus of tarantulas for that reason.

I'd agree, except my P rufilata are always out and I often see my Phormingochilus sp. Even my Ornithoctonus will sit just outside their burrows. They aren't quite as secretive as I'd initially thought, my Atmetochilus songsangchotei on the other hand has never left her burrow under my care. I see her occasionally at the entrance but never out.

Good choice! One of my favorite Pamphobeteus species. Insanely food motivated and adult females are built like tanks. They're quite impressive display spiders. I also always found the females of this species to be one of the prettier Pamphos.

Mascara are a great species. Congrats.

I have bred these twice already and both AF have recently moulted with another fresh MM ready and waiting.
