Yeah that was a bit in the uncanny valley for me, too. It's like the AI merged a photo of a T and a jumping spider. Jumper eyes are really pretty, but they just look out of place on Ts.

Super cool article, glad this time we got pictures of the species described. That n mecana female is gorgeous. If it isn't too hard to find in the wild, I'd hope to see some of those captive bred in the coming years.

Exciting news! Thank you for sharing it. When you are showing off 4 new species of spiders, why on earth make some weirdo generated image? Did they not see how cool they were? Love those white tipped legs on the Euthycaelus cunampia. They would have shown up much better without that white striped background though.
