These lovelies came my way via David Beard today. {D

02 Male Coastal. This guy's just cool :)

03 Female Diamond/Coastal. This girl's in shed right now, so naturally is looking really dull. I'll take more pics of her after she sheds so ya'll can see how gorgeous she is!

Don't mind my carpet, my vacuum broke last week and I haven't gotten around to buying a new one/fixing the old one.

Haha.. you know I was never interested in Carpet Pythons.. preferring Rainbow Boas really... But lord, Lately my friend bought a High Yellow Female and a Male Linear stripe with the same coloration as your coastal for $250 for everything and the cage. and I've been slobbering jealous ever since..

Haha! I love Carpets. 7 of the 8 snakes I have are Carpets. Okay, technically the Morelia bredli aren't Carpets anymore, but some people still consider them to be. My little Hogg Isle boa seems out of place here, but I love her anyways :)

Yeah, they are different from the IJs, I have an 04 male here. Carpets have an undeserved rep for being kind of testy. I've not found that to be at all true. They're very active, but not bitey at all. Babies of course are a bit nippy, but even without handling, many will calm down as they age.

Hell, the Ball python I had 11 years ago used to tag me every chance she got.

I must say I've been bitten by far more Ball Pythons than Carpets lol. The only time a Carpet got me was when I was bagging up the female Diamond x Coastal above to ship her out....but she was in shed and my hand was really warm, so I can't say I blame her lol.

Continuing the thread......

04 male Irian Jaya/West Papuan carpet. VPI stock.

By the way, the tub he's sitting in is not his enclosure. In a true show of how clumsy I can be, I managed to dump his water bowl thereby soaking the paper in his enclosure. The tub was just where I put him while I dried out the enclosure and replaced the paper.

I've gotten tagged by my ball python and my male carpet. I can't blame the male IJCP, he'd just gotten shipped overnight, was still learning who I was, and that I wasn't going to eat him when I opened up the cage. As for the ball, well, I went to move a bottlecap before he slithered over it and he thought I was going after his head. Quick defensive strike. The IJCP female has never struck at me.
