Ok,I know you guys are probably sick of these kind of questions but,What would you suggest?I have 3 smaller snakes now.Im wanting something larger, boa or python.Other then a ball what would be a good snake that doesnt get too large(under 10'),is somewhat docile and easy to care for.Any input would be greatly appreciated...Thanks...Rich

Colombian Boa or one of the smaller dwarf boa morphs (Hogs Island), or a Dumeril's Boa. I'll also mention Rosy Boas, which stay pretty small.

Can't really recommend any pythons other than Ball Pythons. A docile adult Blood Python is quite an impressive snake (think about the size of a Ball but with GIRTH) but they're not easy to get to that point. They're very nippy as babies, and require tons of attention from you to get them to calm down. Angolan Pythons are very similar to Balls but are super expensive.

Go for a Columbian Boa. Good size, longevity, good temperment and there's tons of care info out there. They're not too expensive either.

Its really what you like the most, carpet pythons are cool but have seen some really aggressive ones but also some nice ones. Ball pythons are always a great choice. You may want to look inot a durmerils boa because I have heard good things about them. Whatever you decide on just make sure you do lots of research ;). Good luck :)

I would suggest a Red Tail Boa. They get about 7-8 feet and are pretty friendly if you handle them when they are young.

Rich,

Ball pythons are the best, they stay small enough for one person to handle safely, and get large enough to feel like you have a boidae. I've had one for 17 years and its just over 5 feet.

I wish redtail boas would stay that size, however when they reach 8-9 feet people start fearing them, stop handling them, and start looking to get rid of them. The fact is large snake care is NOT for most people. It is a long term commitment, it could get expensive, and it takes some work.

How about a brazilian rainbow? Though they do need high humidity.

ive seen more aggressive royals than i have carpets lol :D
any new accquired snake can show signs of aggression due to the nervousness of being in new surroundings
royals are ok yes but their fasting can be worrying to some keepers and you need to be certain you are purchasing a CB snake as CF snakes come with problems such as reluctance to feed and parasites
when buying dumerils make sure you are presented with the relevant paperwork as them being a CITES listed speices and prrof of microchipping but they can be hard to find

More aggressive BPs then carpets is really hard to beleive. Any baby snake can be nervous and nippy but the most aggressive carpets I have seen were adults. If your looking for the best starter snake out there then its not a boa or python,BPs are great but the best starter snake hands down is the cornsnake.
