So i got my first juvenile regal jumping spider 10 days ago, and he wont eat. Ive tried meal worms and wax worms. Hes acts like hes scared of them. Ive sent pictures to other enthuiasts asking if the food is too big, but was told they can take down food 3 times their size. Im kinda worried. He was mid molt when i got him but hes past that now. Any advice is welcomed! TIA!

Hello :)

While it's true that jumpers will take down food much bigger than them, I personally believe that juveniles don't like too. I have two juvie P. audaxs and they won't eat anything bigger than them. On the other hand, I had previously kept an adult, and he eat pretty much anything lol. He could take down large sized feeder crickets.

So, I would recommend getting the smallest feeder crickets possible for your guy/girl. I'm not sure how big your jumper is, but my juvies will eat those. You can find them at any local pet store. If your's is really tiny, like first couple of molts, fruit flies would serve as well.

Hope this helps, good luck!

I’ve had an adult that I saved from bug killing dust a couple of weeks ago and every time I’ve tried to feed it it always threw up a threat posture fangs and all
All I have are mealworms and they are a little big and won’t take em maybe yours since juvenile is better to feed smaller prey(mine was a bold jumper tho) 8EECB18C-E632-4F8F-B0B7-BD4E1C1FA66F.jpeg
