heres a pic of my new dwarfs. i was pretty pleasantly surprised at how calm and friendly they are. i'd read dwarfs are high strung and extremely nervous but i guess thats not the case.

i got them from some mega crappy pet store since i couldn't find any at a local shelter or on craigslist, and the one is pretty skinny so i hope she makes it.

anyway i thought i'd share a crappy pic from my cell phone

I've always been told they are nut jobs as well, but of the four Ive had experience with, only one was a nut. The other three were sweet hearts. I have a feeling that reputation comes more from them being given to children who don't give them the attention to keep them tamed, more then the rabbits actually being nuts, lol

they are some kind of dwarf, no idea what. so far they only seem to tolerate handling, but they are more tolerant than my last rabbit so i can't complain ;)

ugh the skinny one died while i was at work tonight, i've seriously been having terrible luck with pets lately.

she was skinny and lethargic when i got her, and didn't put on hardly any weight. this pet store had better replace her or i'll be pretty pissed.

Hate to hear that one died, they were cute.
Did you take them to a vet, if not maybe the other one shoud go in for a check up.
Hopefully the petstore will give you a replacement or a refund.

well the pet store said they'd give me another rabbit so hopefully i can get another female from the same litter. i was actually surprised they said they'd give me another one after 9 days.

the other one doesn't need to go to the vet, its very healthy active, and has put on some weight. she she's shaped like a big fat tear drop now. :D

i was worried about the one that died when i bought her, she had gunk in the corners of her eyes and a few poo pellets matted in her fur. she was extremely gaunt and not very active at all. i was very worried b/c she hadn't been grooming herself, but i decided that she was probably in bad shape b/c she looked like a runt and that maybe she would get healthy. she started out fine and was grooming herself and eating, but just never put on weight or got healthy.

hopefully i'll get a nice one this afternoon to replace her ;)

Good to hear that your getting a replacement and that your other one is doing fine. I didnt know if maybe they both were sick coming from the same place, maybe she was just the runt.

Well eventually they'd need the vet for spaying, since female rabbits are very prone to cancer, and spaying greatly reduces it.

We have a male and female mini rex, but we have our suspicions that they're mixed with a standard rex, since they're much larger than the mini rex should be.

Pretty buns, it's great they enjoy handling. Most rabbits have to come to you to feel comfortable and obviously most all I've met hate being picked up, lol.
