Yesterday my mom went out to buy a Lutino Cockatiel and it is an amazing pet, i am wanting to try and tame it and then teach it how to talk. Sorry but i dont have any pics right now but i soon will. I have a link where you can see what it looks like. Hopefully i can get it to talk! Wish me Luck!

I had one....for 18 yrs..I miss him :( He was an insane critter but I loved him very much. He would call the cats......Kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty kittykitty kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty.....usually at 2am...for about half an hour :D Gosh he was a sweetheart.

Good luck with yours. They need lots of attention...like a 2yr old. If you give it to them they will turn into amazing pets!! Very responsive and loving..

Did I mention I miss mine...?:D

Btw, they like to whistle more than talk, so I would advise not whistling around it :p

My dad has a talker, and it's taken the bird about 2 years to get to the point where you can recognize it when he says "Mr. Cheepers" (his name) and other things.

I

I also have a quaker parrot (whos fond of speaking) and some zebra finches. I kept the 'tils with the parrot and i had no problems - no nibbling of toes or anything, everyone got along fine.

Thanks for all of the feedback, she just started getting comfy in her new home and is letting us pet her and hold her. She WHISTLES and chirps all of the time! Thanks again guys,

I have a little attitude case of a male Whiteface Cinnamon Pearl Pied Cockatiel. This isn't him, but this is what he resembles:

Cockatiels are awesome birds. I 've kept many birds a years ago, but unfortunently where I live now, the only animals we can keep, are cats.
So im stuck with quiet aniamsl only.
I was wondering if you guys know of any good Pet Bird forums. My search failed.

Thanks

Have you tried www.flightfeathers.com ? ;) It's an awesome place, with many links to other parrot forums. I believe www.parrottalk.com is another great one.
