My son is thrilled that he finally found a shop that had a Pacman frog. He's been wanting one of these eating machines for a while now. We just got the little guy settled in his new digs and are going to check out the famous appetite tomorrow. He's only about 2-2.5" and suppose to be fed every day!
I guess we'll see.
I've seen some amazing pics of how much these guys can eat-goldfish, snakes, nightcrawlers, bullfrogs, mice when they get bigger! They just gulp down anything that fits in their mouth!

I'm going back in a couple of days for a huge Vietnamese centipede they had, wife hates that idea...:D

even if it doesn't fit in their mouth... ever seen that animal planet show where a smaller pacman frog tries to swallow a frog that is clearly much larger than himself

Great looking little pac, congrats on the new addition! Just don't fall into the trap a lot of folks do - overfeeding and excessive vertebrate protein. They're too fun to watch eat for their own good! {D

I Love these Frogs. congrats.

I second that statement. I have two pacs(C. cranwelli), and one has never eaten a mouse.Strictly Dubias, crix, superworms, and crawlers. The other seems to only like mice. I would stay away from goldfish all together. They may eat every day as babies but as they grow, they eat more at one sitting and less frequently.
The green is gonna fade on the lil guy you got there. Some will fade to a complete brown, and some look camoish. Here is a couple pics of mine:) . I have had the albino one since he was the size of a quarter. Have fun with your new addition. They are quite the conversation piece. I get alot of, "so it's a frog and it dosen't live in water?"

Properly named Hoover and Chompers. :)

Nice ones Ritz! I think we'll just stick with crickets, superworms, and nightcrawlers and stay away from vertebrates.
I read up on'em yesterday and found out about cutting the feedings back as they get bigger and also that they seem to grow extremely fast. One site stated they could grow to 5-6" in six months!!??

They are cute when they are little aren't they? Prepare to be amazed at the growth rate. I've had my albino for over a year and a half now. The only food sources that I have easily available are crickets and nightcrawlers. He seems to do fine on them, but really doesn't seem too interested in crickets lately. He probably considers them too small to bother with these days.

Stop making me want one! Haha, they're nothing but a mouth and a stomach with eyes and legs. Maybe I should get one for my vivarium.
