OK my little versicolor finally molted today. The 1st T Ive actually got to see molt. After a few hours shes still hanging in a web/nest she made last night. But she has a few legs curled under her and her fangs are moving up and down alot ! Is this normal? Ive never seen a T I have act in this manor. Also my Cobalt is about 3"+ Im guessing I dont have enough substrate for her to dig in cause she spends her nights climbing the underside of her "petpal" and webs the crap outta everything. Also when I 1st got her she "dared" me to mess with her. Now she just sits and moves as she wants with no threat postures at all. I know not to handle her .. but is she getting adapted to her new home ? Or is she still a meanie? If I have to move her , whats the best way for me and her both? and whats a good substrate to use? Im using a forest type peat. I dont wanna get mites. Thanks to anyone with answers ! ! !

How big is the versi now? sometimes the clean themselves by curling their feet under and up to their mouth and then rub their fangs with their feet. And sometimes they even stick their feet in their mouth and rub in and out. I dont know if this is what yours is doing or not but could be. My adult pinktoe does it quite often and I have watched him do it, my girlfriend says she saw baby pinktoe doing it as well as my togo, but not sticking it in his mouth. But yeah I wouldnt worry about it they do all sorts of weird things sometimes, and I know how you feel, when i had only a couples T's I thought the worst alot, and when my suntiger stopped eating for 3 weeks I was like wtf, but im up to like molt 7 now and I have gotten so used to how weird some can be. And with the cobalt, mine is fine and does rear up unless I open the tank and try and take out the water dish or I touch her web or nudge her back leg and then she is an absolute psycho and starts striking repeadetly and then stays in his posture for 10 mins sometimes. I dont recommend nudging them un prpose though. ANyways good luck with your T's

peace

edit: oops i thought you meant by first molt youve seen, that it is the first molt any of your tarantulas have ever had.
