Hi,
I have kept mantids sense i was four, but those mantids were of the praying mantis form (chinese mantis, praying mantis, african praying mantis etc. etc.). Today i was in regal reptiles and a new mantid they brought in caught my eye and i couldn't resist!
The mantis looks like a green and brown twig.. very long and very slender.. Its eyes are incredably narrow and pointy with a bit of red on their tips. It also acts like a twig, straightening its raptorial arms and aligning them with its body. They didn't know where it came from but from the other stuff in the shipment i would guess east africa.
My new creature is VERY different from all of the other species i have kept and i am willing to bet it needs different care... for one thing, it wont eat its crickets. So, if anyone has ideas on what it might be or how to get it to eat i would be very thankfull. Also, if im gonna need to feed it flies or something where do i get those from?
Thanks,
Trygon
