I did it. Called up Adopt-An-Angel program and they picked out two older kittens for me (around 5 and 7 months old or so -- I don't really know their ages, guess it's in their paperwork). It's the same organization from which I adopted my recently lost RB Zuri and the lady there remembered me. Weird since that was 12 years ago. Anyway, I drove 60 miles with carriers to pick the brats up -- I sort of knew what I was getting from texting with Adopt-An-Angel lady. The kittens took over my home immediately. They're simple domestic shorthairs and I adore them already (but am constantly driven crazy at the trouble these two get into all the time). Yeah, they've broken things already. Expensive things. I didn't realize how high up they could jump or I'd have cat-proofed my home better. They run crazily, adore each other (though one is definitely a lap cat) although neither has slept with me yet. (sad). I miss a cat at night cozied up against me. Maybe in time. Dottie is on top bed, Dora on lower perch (I bought the cat tree for them -- haven't had kittens in a LONG time), just an older cat who preferred to sleep on piano, sofa or my bed (or boxes, of course). So I had to buy everything new for these younger more active gals, including toys I am eventually going to break my neck on!
I didn't name them but their names seemed to fit them well. Adopt An Angel basically takes in cats from kill shelters and fosters them to buy them more time for adoption. Anyway, I have cats, er, big kittens, again. Can't wait for them to grow up and calm down a bit!!! But they do make me smile and laugh out loud a LOT! Few photos, they don't stay still! This was a rare shot, taken right after I got their new cat tree assembled (which took forever with their help --lol).
