New King Snake

I just took the plunge and purchased a thirteen inch long Striped California king Snake. This is the first snake I have ever owned. I don't know how to sex snakes, so i'm assuming it's male and naming it Solid. The owner of the pet shop said that he was due for a feeding so i offered him a thawed pinkie and he gobbled it down. I was afraid that he might not take food after being transported to a new habitat, but he never hesitated. He's a great handling snake and has never tried to bite or poo on me. i feel like a giddy little schoolboy ! LOL

ROCK! You see, this is how us men can get in touch with the "mommy" inside of us. We can relate this way, but, well, you know.....please, no comments. Oh man, am I asking for it... I've got about 10 splendida (desert kings) eggs I'm waiting on to hatch. I'm looking forward to that. Going to take pics when it happens. Nice snake you have there! Many years left of enjoying that animal By the way, I've never considered any of this stuff as being "pets". To me they are things that I watch to get enjoyment from. The intrigue, wonder and curiosity is what makes it worth while. But, I've seen some animals that you normally wouldn't think could relate to people, actually make some kind of weird connection...so who knows!!!
