Hello!
I just purchased my first ever jumping spiders, I’ve done a lot of research but still have some questions. They are i4 + and pretty little, already eating fruit flies. I just am wondering the best way to water them? I’m so worried about misting because I read how they can drown easily. I have two jumping spider specific tarantula cribs and as of now have a damp paper towel in the bottom with a damp q tip and cotton ball. They arrived with damp cotton balls so maybe I should do that? Or should I be misting? If so how often? Any info would be appreciated! TIA

They won't drown in water droplets nor will they drown in an appropriately sized container.

You can mist the walls, mist the web, provide droplets using a syringe, dribble water using a bottle, or use a bottle cap as a water dish.

Just make sure not to flood it.

Only "larger" collections of water might cause harm, when a sling gets stuck by water tension and can't reach the edge of the water. For very small slings I even skip the bottle cap for that reason or at least put some gravel in as well.

Misting the side of an enclosure, decoration and/or web is the safe way to do it. Such small droplets won't be an issue.

Paper or q-tips do work in principle, but you have to switch them often, as they tend to develop mold quickly.
