Just caught a fairly little huntsman running around on my cupboard door, and seeing as I have a recently empty tank (pede died) I thought I'd wack him in there. He seems to hang out on the walls mostly, so I'll be adding some climbing material for him. What humidity do they need? What should I feed this little one on? Can they be housed together? Substrate?

Any other basic info? Thanks alot in advance!

Are you able to post a photo of it? I'd love to see it :) They're pretty easy to keep. You don't have to worry about humidity so much but just have a small jar lid filled with water. Substrate can be almost anything with loose bark and leaves but they usually prefer to just sit on the vertical sides of the container or upside down on the lid. They don't like company with any other huntsmans and will fight to the death almost as soon as they see each other. You could feed yours just about anything and if you want to see them in action then put a moth in the container and watch the spider go nuts! They're best observed at night with the lights out but have a red LED light handy and you'll see them at their most intimate like maticulously cleaning themselves. :)

Yeah he cleans himself alot and has eaten a cricket twice his size, after crash tackling it off a branch 10cm away with a flying leap... Very cool little spiders to watch.

He has a huge butt now, and I think I'll be waitng a while for his next feed
