I often wonder to myself whether there can be degrees of red in rosea. We like to divide everything into categories where it's either RCF or it isn't. But what if it is somewhere in between? Anyway, the pics do look like RCF to me. Then again, color is one thing that does not photograph well. Slightly different lighting can make a cobalt blue look near black or bright blue.

As for gender, dark spiders are more difficult to sex because you just can't see the detail. But it looks female.

It definately looks like a grammostola sp rcf to me. As for the sex i'm just not sure. Roseas have always been hard for me to sex ventrally.

Well I got it from the NARBC in CA from Krazy 8's Invertebrates. Chris sexed for me on the spot so I'm hoping its a female.

If Chris from Krazy8 sexed it I'd have very high confidence in it being female.

Good looking T. One of my favs! I have three RCF females one hopefully gravid. I still think the RCF is a color variant of the normal rosea??? Mine have the same rosie colored carapace as the normal version.....They just look too similar in all other aspects IMO....Im sure im wrong and have no scientific proof.

I'll update the next time she molts but who knows when that will be. She thin so I need to fatter her up. How often do they molt at this size? She's about '4.

lol if you are lucky lol

on a side note. I think there is a big difference between what is called RCF and NORMAL , the ones people call normal seem to get much larger.

It's a nice looking T!
I bought a RCF rosea at the pet store, and she is in heavy premolt right now. I can't wait to see her with a new red dress, she looks kinda battered and faded right now.
I've also seen some freaking huge normal rosea, so there could be something to that.
