Just thought I'd share a couple picks of a recent hatching we had. Silkies are super-fluffy and funny little chickens. This is Snowball and her daddy. Snowball is our first hatching of a Lavender Splash. Right now, Snowball is going through a bad hair phase lol. She'll grow out of it and get her adult feathers in about a month.
First pic is her at 6days old. She had a cute ball of hair as a little peep and got her name. Next pic 3 wks old. 3rd pic is the sire, a pure Lavender. We have had one other pure Lav hatch in early June. We call her Marge Simpson because her hairdo :) Gotta get some pics, she's turning into a real cottonball- but it's raining today :/
Very hard to find out which of our black hens throw Lavender. We've only hatched two this year and a bunch that carry it, but we have fingers crossed for at least a couple more...
We have Black, Splash, Blue, Lavender and yay! now Lav Splash in our flock!

Thats some crazy hair going on. I used to have a few bantams in our garden, one looked like Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

Awwwww too cute! My brother and his wife used to have some silkies running around their place. They were adorable.
