I apologize for not having pictures available. Here is the deal, my girlfriend found a red eye crocodile skink on CraigsList. All is cool, the lil guy was advertised as a baby and pics were provided.(pics seemed to show a larger lizard, I didnt realize how small the woman was holding it) my g/f pressed me to get it. She is into reptiles more than I am (insert calls and traveling here) I arrive and this thing is ultra small, like newborn! The owners said it hatched out last Tuesday March 5. They didnt tell me in calls or state it was this new. We have researched up and thought about getting this kind of lizard before but we never thought it would be that young when we got it. Does anyone have tips on keeping one this small? We have it in a small kritter keeper with deep coco coir/sphagnum moss substrate with a small water dish. Aside for general terms of keeping this lizard, Do you have insight on keeping one so young? This one doesnt seem to have a yolk still attached or anything and the person I bought it from said they had seen it it eat 1/8" crix at least once. Any tips? perhaps I am paranoid and it will survive fine.

Dark, Dark, dark, and humid. they are very shy, and love dark moisture; and hopefully its one of the few captive bredspecimens, Unfortunatly they seem to have a hard time in capitivity if wild caught.

I'll agree with Malhavoc's. This is the only reptile I've kept and I found that as long as you crank that humidity up as far as you can take it and make sure that there's enough hideyholes they'll do fine.. Baby crickets was what mine ate when they were teeny.

edit: Mind you, the first spawn I got from my pair didn't survive to adulthood after I rehomed it into another enclosure. The second one I left with it's parents and it thrived on baby crickets and I think it must have put a small dent in my cleaning crew as well (isopods if I recall correctly). I donated the lot of them later on to the local zoo and I kinda regret that now. I specifically told the guy in charge there (it was a smaller zoo) how to set them up and he disregarded everything and they're now kept the same way as leopard geckos:(
