My old camera died yesterday, the day before my daughter's b-day, so I was forced to buy another on short notice. Same type, Canon ELPH - point and shoot series, but better than the old one. Only thing ticks me off is having to shop on short notice, I spent $60 more than I could have on-line for camera and memory card

Here's a test shot of my Ga female, full auto, with flash.

only bad thing is the 4x optical zoom. i expected the PowerShot SD850 IS to have a better zoom then that. but the colors are vibrant enough!

Yeah, that's one of the big trade-offs with the point and shoot, but this type of camera satisfies 90% of our needs, and size and ease of use is important for us. Stinks when you're trying for a long distance wildlife shot though. 4x is a (small) step up from the 3x we had.

Canon all the way. I'm looking at buying the same one. Picture looks great, sharp and the colors are right on.
