So I recently got a new camera, a Panasonic LX3. I think this is definitely the best camera you can get for macro photography before making the jump to an SLR. In fact, I think it may even be better than SLRs when it comes to inverts. It has a 1cm min focus, so you can get incredibly close (almost too close) and still get sharp images. And it's still a pretty small camera, so you can get it into tighter places.
Here's some of the best pics I've taken so far.
G. rosea sling
G. rosea adult female
P. murinus sling
100% crop
Freshly molted A. amazonica
B. albopilosum sling
One of my P. cambridgei's feet
P. fasciata, notice the partially regenerated back legs
N. chromatus sling, he is barely 1/4" legspan
C. fasciatum sling, about 1/2"
A few scorp pictures
Tityus stigmurus
100% crop of the same picture
Chela of a 4th instar H. judaicus
The rest of him
C. margaritatus "om nom nom"
Freshly molted V. carolinianus, look how much he grew (but still barely 1/2")
And some pics of my S. subspinipes mutilans pedelings
Not a good day to be a dubia roach
Closeup on the head
Legs
Hope you enjoyed, many more to come!
