Didnt see any threads on this yet. An Aussie T with a crazy striadulation that sounds similar to a rattlesnake!!!!

Very interesting, seems that they can produce a wide range of tone with the unique structures.

Nice T. It looks similar to: Foxy Whistling Spider (Phlogius sp.2) Or one of the Phlogius sp sold at SWIFTS.

BTW. If you can't resist the urge taunt your T to point of stridulation, at least have the compassion to use an instrument it cannot impale itself onto!

lol, I was thinking the same thing...I gringed everytime those sharp pointy ends touched the T. If it decided to bite I wonder who would have fanged who.

Is this not Selenocosmia crassipes? It looks like one to me... and they're known to stridulate.

If you follow the link it is a new genus according to Steve.

Roger that.

It does look uncannily like one, doesn't it, though?

It does for the most part. I find most of aussies to look very similar, like the asiatic Ts as far as all looking very similar.

love the stridulation, my aussie barker makes the occasional virtually silent noises, but that was awesome.
