Hi guys. Found a female assassin bug on the bus on Friday and took it home in a vial (glad I decided this once to bring one!!) I didn't know it was even a female until yesterday when it laid eggs on the container lid underside. I really miss my camera now more than ever... :(

Anyone ever bred these and know how long the females live? Hope they love termites. I have a lot in my yard I'd like to feed to them. {D

How fun! You got a bug and eggs! I have bred several species of native and non-native assassins. Every species has a different lifespan, but females will live longer than males. Is there any way you can take a picture? If not, describe its looks, or search whatsthatbug.com and let us know what type it may be.
Your bug may eat termites, but some US species prefer moths or other flying insects. What size is your bug?
Last of all, what you found may be a leaf footed bug. They look a lot like assassins at first.
Let us know what you come up with.
