I bought an A. seemani yesterday while on my way back from visiting relatives in Florida.

This is my first Aphonopelma spp. and it seems healthy so far. It's about 4 inches (10 cm) with no tibial spurs or bulbs. I'm hoping for a female, so we'll see after the next molt.

They are such beautiful T's. Too bad the other one had to die. :(

I agree. I didn't realize how pretty these Ts were! It has a coconut hide and it looks so cool to see striped legs sticking out!

It's great. Although I was going to wait a few more days before feeding it, I dropped a few crickets in there and it pounced on them. Its enclosure is ready now. I usually get the enclosures ready BEFORE I buy the T, but since this was a quick buy it took me a few days.

It has already holed up in its hide. The hide had been in there for maybe 5 minutes when it went inside and hasn't come out since. You can see its legs a little in the pic.

Thanks for the positive comments. Now I just hope there's no parasites or anything else to contend with. I was told it was CB, but the kid probably didn't have a clue. I have no idea how old it is, its molt history, etc. I guess that's the price you pay for not buying from a reputable dealer.

Hopefully I'll be lucky and there will be no major problems! I'm going to give it a few weeks at home to make sure there are no immediate problems and then bring it to my classroom.
